DONATE

Rowing is an expensive sport, and our membership rates don't really cover the costs of operation. Belonging to WARC costs members about $16 per week over a year, but the club's costs run far beyond that amount to include equipment, consumables, travel, coaching, insurance, transport, administration and everything else (our never-ending requirement for spare bolts and cleaning vinegar, for example!)

Thanks to the Australian Sports Foundation, WARC has been able to establish three projects which allow friends of the club to make a tax deductible donation to our core activities.

Every year, Western Australian athletes travel from Perth to selection regattas in the Eastern States as part of their pathway to elite level competition.

Most WARC athletes study or work full time, as well as training in the order of 12 times a week to compete at this level. It takes a huge emotional, physical and financial cost that does not need to be borne by those athletes lucky enough to row for a Sydney-based club.

To support our athletes in these endeavours, visit our project on the ASF website here.

Don't forget to tell us about your donation by emailing president@warowingclub.org so we can thank you and keep you up to date with the team's activities.

Rowing kit is expensive. Seriously expensive. From entry level to elite, no rowing kit comes without a respectable price tag.

WARC has had a comprehensive boat turn-over policy which has maximised the appropriate use of our limited resources.

From our two brand new specially-designed learn-to-row vessels to the pride of our fleet, the new Eight, every boat is paid for through fundraising and elbow-grease.

To support WARC to keep the fleet up to date with the best gear, visit our project on the AFS website here.

The home of the WA Rowing Club is a beautiful, heritage-listed 110-year-old building we are lucky to have. The club has a responsibility to maintain the building to ensure it remains a jewel on the Swan River foreshore. The major priority for our home fund this year is the replacement of the timber and handrails on our balcony.

The funds for this project must be provided by the club through donations, fundraising and in-kind support. Maintaining the balcony, with its unobstructed view over the Swan River, is a priority for the club as it is a key feature of our function room, who's operation helps to assure our continued financial security.
